Some Movements In Manipulation Under Anesthesia Procedure

Gentle axial traction is used in several places in the cervical spine(neck) before manipulation of the vertebral segments.

Straight leg raises using progressive linear force allows for gentle stretching of tight hamstring muscles.

Single knee/hip stretches single out tightened pelvic muscles that help with return of lower back flexibility.

Lower back stretches help alter accumulated adhesions around the discs, joints, joint capsules and surrounding soft tissues (muscles).

Manipulative therapy is much easier to perform when adhesions that cause chronic joint fixations are altered using stretching while the patient is in restful twilight sleep (conscious sedation).
