Understanding Fascial Manipulation
Treat the person, no longer just the muscle, organ or joint; dedicate yourself to listening to the body and plan a tailor-made treatment that is able to accommodate its limits and enhance its potential. These are the prerequisites of Fascial Manipulation, an innovative rehabilitation technique created by Luigi Stecco.
What does Fascial Manipulation mean?
Fascial Manipulation means shifting the therapeutic gaze from treating the consequence to treating the cause; unlike traditional medicine which enhances the hormonal, chemical and neurological control of the internal organs, our approach recognizes the importance of the physiological balance of the organism and focuses on the prime movers of the joint, tracing the causes of pain to bring back the the organism to its physiological balance. With the aim of improving the patient’s quality of life, we use an open gaze and a multimodal approach, enhancing active listening to the patient and the signals sent by his body. Often a single targeted session is enough to resolve pain that has been dragging on for years.
Stecco Fascial Manipulation is a manual therapy technique developed by Italian physiotherapist Luigi Stecco in the 1980s, aimed at evaluating and treating global fascial dysfunction by restoring normal motion/gliding to the system.
